Government “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried.” Winston S. Churchill Horace Mann wrote " my nature revolts at the idea belonging to a universe in which there is to be a never ending anguish. . . . While we are on earth, the burden of our duties is toward man. " Polybius believed that societies went through cycles of
growth, decay and fall. And, believing that low birth rates contributed to
decline , he warned The
above three quotations are in chronological order. Winston Churchill was one of the
world's greatest statesmen. Horace Mann, a century ago, was a great educator
and the state of Massachusett’s first Secretary of their first Board of
Education. His writings
influenced the course of education in Polybius was a famous Greek historian who wrote the above more than 2000 years ago. His book The Cycles Of History described the rise and fall of area societies and the reasons for their collapse. Jared
Diamond, a professor at the University UCLA delivered a lecture at As Polybius pointed out, today in most countries we have mob rule, and each person in the mob almost without exception is susceptible to bribes and their vote can be bought. The result is leaders who are not respected, who are inept, incompetent, corrupt and immoral. Not all, but many! The nearest thing to world government is our United Nations. It's dysfunction and corruption and a lack of respect by many intelligent people is a worldwide joke. Like politicians everywhere promising much in return for a vote, each country in the United Nations is striving for a disproportionate share of the world's resources. Obviously, we have to mature and begin to put in power people who will lead wisely and well. It is time for us to begin to think in global terms. As pointed out in various pages of this website, there are numerous dangers to mankind's continued existence on this planet. It is mandatory that we listen to people who are knowledgeable about solutions for present and future dangers to our existence. It will be traumatic for many people with valuable real estate on the seashores to realize that another and surely greater tsunami may completely destroy everything less than a thousand feet above sea level. We are capable of putting floating cities outside of continental shelves, and there is space for the world's present population to move away from danger zones. The
world's population is at present more than 6 billion persons. Again obviously this can't continue to
increase because there is a limit to the world's resources. I commend Last but not least are my ideas on how a world government should be developed and operate. A General Assembly should be elected on the basis of their intelligence and capability. It is not a difficult thing to devise examinations for people who would like to become part of the world's first General Assembly. People who specialize in various disciplines can form committees which would then choose a group to govern the planet. I am a firm believer in rewards and incentives for people who work hard to increase their intelligence and abilities. Obviously the lazy and incompetent should not receive a disproportionate share of the world's resources and should not be permitted to produce offspring which they cannot care for. I am also a firm believer in individual freedom, but never in favor of an individual freedom that is not in the global interest and in the interest of our descendants. People who refuse to live by civilized rules of society, should be permitted to live in less desirable areas of our planet, possibly along the sea shores!. A person's skin color is interesting, but only skin deep. Skin color has been the result of where people live on our planet, and should have nothing to do with receiving more or less of this world's resources. Working hard to improve ability and knowledge is good for an individual. What an individual receives without working for it, inevitably is damaging to the individual. Each individual should have the right to work and be educated, but this right also needs to be earned, and using a disproportionate amount of the world's resources to educate people who don't wish to be educated is wrong, and definitely not in the interest of a global community. An exceptional amount of wealth in any institution or individual provides that entity with the power that is neither good for the entity nor for the planet. A corporation needs capital for efficient operation, but it shouldn't be permitted to become so powerful that it can monopolize certain areas of the world's economy. An individual can only consume in his or her lifetime a very limited amount of the world's resources. People who work and study and develop their abilities, deserve to live comfortably. Thank you for visiting us and I hope you will consider joining our dedicated group. I would like to find people of this caliber to govern this website. Email the CEO@UNIVERSE-EXPLORERS.COM
